This customised Buick LeSabre is one of the finest examples of the 1950's idea of the future.
This 1951 concept car was the talk of the town when it was first announced. Advertising coined the slogan of this being a "rolling engineering laboratory" with double voltage on all its electrics, an oil cooler; a rain activated folding to and that jet-like air intake at the very front. This is an icon of the 50's and shows all the promise that the generation had and how the future could have been. It was pricey though, probably costing around £600,000 of today's money!
